Preparing Your Items for Consignment
Clean Items
First and foremost your items need to be clean. Clothing should be freshly washed and ironed. We do not accept clothing with stains, rips, missing buttons or broken zippers. Toys need to be clean as well. Often toys come apart and individual pieces can be cleaned. We highly recommend that you take the extra time to make your items look as good as possible.
Hanging Your Clothing
All clothing must be hung on wire hangers. No exceptions! Wire hangers can be bent to accommodate smaller sized clothing or clothing can be pinned to the hanger. See our guidelines on hanging clothing here.
Packaging Other Items
Any items that have multiple parts must be attached to each other. You can use anything to accomplish this - ziploc bags, tape, pins, string, etc. Make sure you are not damaging the item with whatever method you chose.
All items need to be able to be opened and inspected by shoppers. Do not tape ziploc bags. If you are concerned about a bag opening you can pin the top of it in the middle.
Bedding should likewise be packaged so it can be opened and inspected. If you do not have a bedding bag we have found XL ziploc bags to work well for this purpose.
Tagging Information
All items must be entered into our barcoding system. You need to be a registered consignor to enter items into the system.
Entering and Pricing Your Items
Choose the category that best fits your item
You
have two lines for a description of the item. Don’t forget to describe
your item well.
This is a selling point for buyers.
For example, buyers like to know if the item is new without tags or has a
special feature.
This also helps us identify your item in the event that the tag gets
separated from the item.
All tags must be printed on cardstock. Hint: Most printers can print on cardstock but some need to be loaded one page at a time.
All barcodes must be clearly printed for our scanners to pick them up. If possible, use a laser printer. If you are using an ink-jet printer make sure the ink jets have been cleaned and the lines do not look smudged at all! Please only print on white or off white paper using black ink. *This step is very important and helps keep our lines moving quickly*
Tags print 6 to a page.
You can cut the tags using scissors or a scrapbook paper cutter.
The tags will include the following information:
Your consignor number
The size of the item (if applicable)
Your two line description
The price you set
If you want the item discounted on 1/2 off day
If you want the item donated or not
Attaching Tags
Tags for clothing should be pinned to the hanger, NOT to the clothing. See below for more detailed information.
Tags should be attached to non-clothing items using either a safety pin or clear packing tape.
Please only apply tape to the top half of the tag.
Tags should be in a prominent, obvious location on the item.
If there is one tag for two items the items must be attached.
For example: shoes can be tied together or placed in a ziploc bag.

Combining
like items is a good idea - here are shoes and tights are combined.
An example of a high chair in very good condition. Please make
sure to clean your items well!
Items in separate bags should be attached but please make sure the bags
can be opened so the items can be inspected!
Adding additional information is a great way to communicate with
potential buyers.
Clothing must be hung on a wire hanger (hint: many dry cleaners will give you wire hangers free of charge)
Wire hangers can be bent to fit smaller sized clothing.
Wire hangers should face to the left when hung.
Pants and other items that cannot be hung on a hanger must be attached with safety pins.
Tags should be attached to the center of the hanger. The pin should go through the tag twice. Please make sure the tag does not fall off the hanger if the hanger is upside down.
All clothing must be hung. No clothing should be in bags.
Clothing should be clean, pressed, free of odors and free of stains. Clothing must be in excellent condition.
